Who we work with

Built for organizations that answer to their members.

Some are registered non-profits. Others are trade bodies, co-operatives or credentialing bodies. What they share is the operating model: members, dues, credentials, events, a volunteer board and a lean staff. That shape, not the legal status, drives how we approach the work.

Tchnology Challenges
We Help Member Organizations Solve

De-risk your next platform decision before you commit to it. We bring structure, transparency and a proven process so change lands well with your board, your staff and your members.

Fragmented Feedback from Members and Staff

Member and staff input arrives through annual surveys, committee meetings, email threads, and front-desk conversations, but it's never consolidated or analyzed as a whole. Recurring concerns go unrecognized, leadership lacks a clear view of priorities, and people who raise issues rarely see them acknowledged. Over time, members disengage, renewals soften, and staff stop flagging problems they know won't go anywhere.

A Portal Members and Staff Work Around

The member portal was built for a different era. Simple tasks like updating a profile, registering for an event or finding a past resource take too many steps. Search returns too much or nothing useful. Members give up and call or email instead. Staff spend their days answering questions the portal should answer, and the manual processes behind it never go away.

Systems That Don't Connect

Membership records, the LMS, events and payments each live in a separate system with a separate login. No one system holds the full member picture. Staff re-key the same data across platforms, reconcile mismatches by hand and pull reports from four places to answer one question. Members see the seams too, with different accounts and inconsistent information depending on where they log in.

Pressure to Adopt AI Without a Clear Path

Members expect their association to keep pace with modern tools for productivity, training and knowledge sharing. Boards are asking about AI. Staff are already experimenting with public tools, often with member data. There is no shared understanding of where AI adds real value, what the privacy and security risks are, or how to evaluate vendors making AI claims. The risk is either doing nothing or moving fast in the wrong direction.

Case Studies

Work With Associations

Two national associations. One needed a portal that worked. The other needed to know what its members actually wanted before rebuilding anything.

CIFFA

Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association

Membership Portal Modernization

The Challenge

The member portal pushed raw data to each visitor's browser and left the device to sort it out. Pages could take 30 seconds or more to load. The legacy LMS integration was also more complex than originally scoped.

What We Did

  • Rebuilt the portal on a three-tier architecture so the server does the heavy lifting, not the member's device.
  • Reviewed the previous team's integration code, found the LMS sign-in required full token management, and built the correct flow.
  • Laid out the sign-in infrastructure options so CIFFA made its own informed decision.
  • Delivered entirely inside CIFFA's own Azure, GitHub and Jira, with full visibility every two-week sprint.
~30s → under 6s Portal page load time for North American users, with similar gains internationally

The Outcome

A stable interface in place of a glitchy one, quick turnaround on change requests during and after launch, and no black-box delivery.

"I would like to thank you and your team for the professionalism, knowledge and support provided to this project. The process was seamless and the responsiveness to any concern paramount." Bruce Rodgers, Executive Director, CIFFA

DGC

Directors Guild of Canada

Member Research and CMS Modernization

The Challenge

Members were frustrated with the portal. Membership growth had stalled, alternative platforms were drawing members away, and staff spent too much time answering questions the portal should have handled.

What We Did

  • Phase 1: Research. Gathered member feedback through a neutral channel and combined it with a system review, content audit, usage analysis and global industry research.
  • Phase 2: Rebuild. Modernized the national and district sites with a shared style guide and a bilingual English and French interface.
  • Migrated member profiles and personal data securely, following established data governance standards.
  • Added a member availability calendar and role-based content control for national and district administrators.
30 member interviews Gathered before any design work began, producing a full picture of the member experience

The Outcome

A modern, bilingual platform built around what members said they needed, with content control where each district needs it.

Request a Complimentary Diagnostic Workshop

For non-profits and member organizations, starting a technology project is a significant commitment of time, budget and staff attention. The problems are rarely simple, and the right solution is rarely obvious at the start.

That’s why we begin with a complimentary diagnostic workshop, before anyone talks about software.
